Why does this have such a low score?

This probably one of the few decent mario-esque games I've seen on this site in a while. I bet it's because you actually drew some of the sprites, with the exception of the blocks which look like they were taken from a mario sprite sheet (I apologize for my brash assumption if they aren't)

I do have a few suggestions though:

1) You should animate the toast jumping instead of just keep him in the standing position.
2) If you did draw those blocks from scratch, you should try making them look a little more unique and less mario-esque.
3) The logo at the beginning looks very slipshod. You should try making a fancier logo in photoshop.
4) I noticed that the mountain in the background was shaded by a flash fill. It would look much better if you just shaded it by hand in whatever program you draw this stuff in. It may be tedious, but trust me it'll come out much better.

Overall, this a neat game and I'm interested into seeing what other pixel art games you come up with in the future.

Only really worth 3.80 to 3.90, not over a 4. You should've redrawn everything instead of using sprites from a previous submission. The controls are kinda tricky. Overall, I give this a 6 outta 10.
